    The Urinary System

We have all heard about the urinary system, but exactly does this vital body
    system consist of?

The urinary system consists of two kidneys, two ureters, a bladder, two sphincter
muscles and a urethra. These organs, tubes and muscles strain out excess fluids
and waste products from the bloodstream, which is then eliminated as urine.

    Functions of the urinary system:

    Two kidneys:
As the name implies, kidneys are shaped like kidney beans and are positioned
in the vicinity of the middle of the back, below the ribs. The kidneys eliminate
urea, creatinine and other salts from the blood through tiny filtering units
    called nephrons.

    Two ureters:
Urine moves from the kidneys through two slender tubes called ureters to the
bladder. The muscles in the walls of the ureter constrict and relax constantly,
pushing the urine downward, away from the kidneys.

    Bladder:
The bladder is an elastic pouch made up of muscle tissue, and is situated in the
lower abdomen. It is akin to a balloon which stores urine.

    Two sphincter muscles:
Spherical muscles, called sphincters, assist in regulating the flow of urine from
    the bladder.

    Nerves in the bladder:
When the bladder starts to fill with urine, nerves notify the brain. As the bladder
fills, the urge to urinate increases.

    Urethra:
The urethra is the tube that transports urine from the bladder to the outside of
the body. The external urethral muscle allows intentional control over urination.
In males, the urethra is longer, and acts as a passageway for both urine and
sperm. To a certain degree the length of the urethra protects males from
    urinary tract infections.

    Pet Urinary Incontinence

If you have a few minutes to spend with a fellow pet lover I
would like to tell you a quick story.  As you probably know
pet urinary incontinence can make your family pet urinate in
inappropriate areas of the house (carpet, floors, shoes, etc.)
and dribble urine without having the ability to control it.
Incontinence can be as trying for pet owners as it is painful
    for pets.

There are no easy solutions in conventional veterinary medicine for urinary
problems in animals like incontinence.  Most pet health experts would agree that
the first thing you need to do is determine what the underlying cause of your pet’s
incontinence is, this should include a trip to the veterinarian clinic for a proper
    diagnosis.

There are a number of common causes of animal urinary incontinence including
a tumor, birth defect, spinal cord or brain disease, urinary infection, bladder
stones, or old age.  In certain cases, such as with a birth defect or tumor,
the incontinence may only be treated with surgery.

If bladder stones, a loosened sphincter due to old age, or a bacterial infection
are the reason of your pet’s urinary incontinence, the veterinarian will in all
probability prescribe medication.  Proceed with caution when making the
decision to give your pet medication because it is very strong and can have
    potentially major side effects.

To cure urinary problems in animals without putting their health at risk natural
treatments are a viable alternative.  You may assume natural treatment is
ineffective or that it is some kind of hoax but studies show that it is actually
very beneficial because it attacks the problem holistically.

When it comes to pet urinary incontinence, options in conventional treatment
are somewhat limited and their effectiveness is doubtful at best.  The best way
to cure your pet’s incontinence is by addressing all of the problem areas of his
health through natural treatment because they could be underlying causes
    of his incontinence.

To treat and prevent urinary problems in animals and promote optimal health,
it is important to give them plenty of fresh, filtered water to drink, a diet of raw
and unprocessed foods, and a homeopathic supplement.

Homeopathic remedies have been proven to be extremely effective in treating
animal urinary incontinence because they contain natural tonics that are effective
in strengthening and maintaining a healthy bladder and urinary tract.

Homeopathy operates on the belief that “like treats like.”  A substance that is
known to cause the symptoms urinary problems in a healthy dog can in fact
heal urinary problems in dogs when given in small doses.

For optimum benefit consider choosing a homeopathic remedy containing
cantharis and uva ursi. Cantharis maintains a healthy urine flow and soothes
the bladder while uva ursi maintains normal pH levels of the urinary tract and
is known as a urinary tonic.

Your next step?  Take this information and use it as a guide to help you
find a homeopathic remedy to cure your pet’s canine urinary incontinence.
Homeopathy is very effective in getting rid of the symptoms of incontinence
and getting to the root of its cause so your dog can heal permanently.
